1. Lithium-ion polymer battery.

The battery is the heart of the Hybrid, delivering charge to drive the electric motor. It is cleverly located under the driver’s seat allowing for more storage space in the rear of the vehicle.

2. Permanent magnet electric motor.

The high-performance rare-earth magnet electric motor works alone or in tandem with the petrol motor to enhance driving performance and fuel efficiency.

3. Regenerative braking system.

This ingenious system harnesses the kinetic energy that’s produced during braking and converting it into electricity. This electricity is stored in the battery pack to power the electric motor – and improve economy.

4. Electric brake booster.

The electric brake booster works with the hydraulic brake system to ensure the driver always ‘feels’ the linear action of the brake pedal when the regenerative braking system is engaged

19" aero type alloy wheels.

Hybrid-exclusive 19” aero-type alloy wheels not only make a bold design statement, they also work to improve vehicle aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.

LED daytime running lights (DRLs).

These bright, energy efficient LED daytime running lights switch on automatically as the engine starts, making the Santa Fe Hybrid more visible to oncoming drivers as well as in carparks and tunnels.

Cascading front grille.

Tapering into the headlights, the design of the signature cascading front grille continues its evolution with mesh-type geometry and a three-dimensional dark chrome finish that gives the Santa Fe Hybrid an imposing, premium look.

10.25” touchscreen

with Apple CarPlay™[P4] and Android™[P5].

A big screen with even bigger entertainment options. All your favourite tunes and apps are at your fingertips, and with voice command and steering wheel mounted controls you’ll never be tempted to touch your phone whilst driving.

Dual zone climate control.

The Santa Fe Hybrid heating and cooling system allows the driver and front passenger to set their own separate climate controls, so they can each enjoy the temperature level that feels just right for them.

Smart key with push-button start.

Hands full? Enjoy the convenience of never again having to pull your car keys out of your bag, jacket or pocket. As long as your smart key is with you, unlocking your doors is as simple as pressing the smart key button on your door handle and starting the ignition just by pushing the dash-mounted engine start/stop button.

Shift-By-Wire (SBW) transmission.

The Santa Fe Hybrid’s sleek, modern interior is further streamlined by having the automatic transmission controlled electronically at the touch of a button, set conveniently within the elevated centre console.

Heated & air-ventilated front seats.

Warm yourselves up or cool yourselves down after Saturday morning sport in front seats that feature an integrated heating and air-ventilation system. The outboard seats will keep passengers in the second row snug and warm too because they’re also available with heating functionality.

Nappa leather appointed seats[P2].

All seats feature a soft Nappa leather[P2]. Nappa leather looks every bit as luxurious as it feels and can be enjoyed as a six or seven seat configuration, with a durable, easy-clean finish that can withstand the daily grind associated with an active, growing household.

Spacious and luxurious 2-2-2 Seating

The Santa Fe Hybrid features premium Nappa leather[P2] appointed seats with three spacious rows of two – including two luxurious captain seats in the 2nd row.

Walk-in switch.

For easier 3rd row entry and exit, a one-touch button quickly collapses and slides the 2nd row seats forward, so kids can get in and out from the 3rd row much more easily and with little assistance.

Air vents in 2nd and 3rd rows.

No matter what the weather, everyone front to back gets to travel in comfort with cooling and heating that extends all the way to the back of the cabin, thanks to dedicated air vents in both the second and third rows, and a manual air-con control in the third row too.

Rear seat split-folding configurations.

From taking kayaks and surfboards for the holidays, to taking your neighbour’s kids on your morning school run, your Santa Fe Hybrid helps you fit everything in with 60/40 split folding seats in the 2nd row and 50/50 in the 3rd row (which can also be laid completely flat).

Child safety seat anchor points.

Keeping the littlies safe and sound is a top priority on every drive. And in the Santa Fe Hybrid you get total peace of mind because the cabin is equipped with a variety of child safety seat attachment points. You’ll find all 2nd row seats have top-tether points (LH, centre, RH), with two ISOFIX points on the outboard seats.

Fitting of child seats simultaneously in directly neighbouring seating positions may not be possible, and is dependent upon the sizes of the child seats being fitted.

Large bootspace.

From fishing rods to school science experiments, whatever you need to carry with you, the family-friendly Santa Fe Hybrid can handle it all with 571 litres with the 3rd row seats folded flat or up to 782 litres of total cargo capacity with both 2nd & 3rd row seats folded flat.

Rear window sunshades.

For those sitting in the back seats, these retractable sunshades will filter out much of the radiant glare and heat on the hottest of days, and can be quickly rolled down and out of the way again when that extra layer of protection is no longer needed.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist – Rear (BCA-R)

Like a second set of eyes, this system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to look out for vehicles in the driver’s blind spot. When BCA-R detects a vehicle in those blind spots (including when a driver is exiting out of a parallel kerbside space), it provides visual and audible alerts, and if it detects a potential collision, it initiates active avoidance steering manoeuvres to steer the Santa Fe Hybrid out of harm’s way.

Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM).

Signalling left or right with the Santa Fe Hybrid’s indicators will activate Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM). This safety system can see cars travelling in rear blind spots and projects real-time video onto the 12.3” supervision cluster, giving the driver an even better driving picture to respond to.

Available on the Highlander variant.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW).

DAW analyses your driving behaviours over time. If it notices signs of fatigue or recognises you’ve been driving continuously for an extended time, pop-up messages and audible warnings will suggest you take a break.

 

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)

City/Urban/Interurban/ Pedestrian/Cyclist (camera & radar).

This system utilises front radar sensors and a windshield-mounted camera to detect cars in front that have become too close for comfort. It can also detect pedestrians and cyclists travelling in front and will automatically apply the Santa Fe Hybrid’s brakes if there’s the chance of a collision.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist -

Junction Turning (FCA-JT).

The FCA-Junction Turning system is designed to reduce the risk of collision by detecting and monitoring oncoming vehicles. When the driver activates the Santa Fe Hybrid’s indicators to turn right at a junction, the system recognises any oncoming vehicles ahead using its front view camera and front radar. If there’s a risk of a collision, it produces warning messages or haptic warning alarms accordingly and applies emergency braking if needed.

High Beam Assist (HBA)

Switching between high and low beam has never been easier during nighttime or when in low visibility areas. This innovation scans the road ahead looking for headlights of oncoming cars, then automatically adjusts the Santa Fe Hybrid’s headlamp range, switching between high and low beam.

Lane Following Assist (LFA).

LFA uses the front windshield mounted camera to detect lane markers and preceding traffic on the road, and provides steering assistance to ensure the vehicle stays in the centre of the lane.

 

Lane Keeping Assist – Line/Road-Edge (LKA-L/R).

This steering-assist function detects lane markings to monitor your Santa Fe Hybrid’s position in the lane. Should you stray from a lane without activating your indicators, an audible and visual warning will be sounded and where required, steering intervention will be provided to keep you in your lane.

Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist-Rear (PCA-R).

When you’re slowly reversing the Santa Fe Hybrid, such as in a garage or parking spot and the PCA-R system anticipates a collision with an obstacle, the system warns the driver with visual and audible alarms while engaging the vehicle’s emergency brakes to prevent the collision.

Available on the Highlander variant.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA).

This technology makes exiting a parking spot much safer. When the Santa Fe Hybrid is in reverse, rear sensors monitor vehicles and pedestrians approaching from the sides and rear. If something enters a blind spot, an audible warning will sound and a visual alert will appear in the supervision cluster. Then if necessary to prevent a collision, emergency braking will be activated.

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA).

This system monitors the Santa Fe Hybrid’s rear doors opening and closing so nothing is accidentally left behind inside the Santa Fe Hybrid. When the driver stops the engine and opens their door to exit, ROA will display a “Check rear seats” warning message in the supervision cluster.

Available on the Santa Fe and Active variants.

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) – Advanced.

This system includes all the elements of standard Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), plus it will sound an audible warning alarm if it detects any movement in the rear seats after the ignition of the Santa Fe Hybrid has been turned off and locked by the driver.

Available on the Elite and Highlander variants.

Remote Smart Parking Assist System (RSPAS).

Imagine coming back to your car after a long day of shopping and finding two cars parked so close either side of you that you can’t open your doors to get in. With Santa Fe Hybrid, that’s not a problem. Simply activate Remote Smart Parking Assist with your smart key and watch your Santa Fe Hybrid drive itself straight out of that tight spot, so you and your passengers can comfortably hop in. Better still, your Santa Fe Hyrbid can drive straight into tight parking spots exactly the same way.

Available on the Highlander variant.

Safe Exit Assist (SEA).

The Santa Fe Hybrid’s senses are always looking out for you. Even when it’s parked, if it detects a car approaching from behind, it will prevent the driver from disengaging the electronic child safety lock to allow passengers in the 2nd row seat from exiting the vehicle. And if it detects a vehicle approaching and a road-facing rear passenger opens their door, it will sound a warning chime reminding them to be careful and a warning sign will also pop up in the cluster.

Surround View Monitor (SVM).

This multi-camera system generates a 360 degree bird’s eye view around your Santa Fe Hybrid, displaying it on your multimedia screen to assist you in successfully manoeuvering tight parking situations.
